As of January 2015, Citizen and Immigration Canada (CIC) introduced a new online system to manage application for permanent residency under certain economic programs. This new system is called the Express Entry system.
The goal of the Express Entry system is to allow CIC to expedite application processing time in an effort to secure the best immigration candidates.
If you are considering applying for permanent residency under the following program:
Federal Skilled Worker Program
This program seeks to secure candidates with specific skilled working experience. To apply for this program, applicants must also be planning to live outside Quebec.
Canadian Experience Class
This program seeks to secure candidates with the specific skilled working experience obtained in Canada with proper authorization.
Federal Skilled Trades
This program seeks to secure candidates with the specific trade working experience. To apply for this program, applicants must also be planning to live outside
Specific Provincial Nominee Program
Each Provincial and territory has its own streams and criteria for their Provincial Nominee Program PNP. If you are nominated from one of these programs you may be eligible to use the Express Entry System to expedite the processing of your file.
The new express entry system will be for you.
With the Express Entry System, an electronic profile of the applicant must be prepared and submitted to CIC. VisaNotes can help you navigate through this process and submit the best profile for you.

Note: Completing an online Express Entry profile or entering the pool does not guarantee that you will get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.
The government’s objective is to process most applications for permanent residency within six months or less. (This period starts on the date they get a complete application and ends on the date a final decision is made on your application for permanent residence.)
